First Christian church always maintains a benevolence fund to help our neighbors in need. However, during this current crisis, we recognize that our normal benevolence fund will be insufficient. In response to this moment, we are establishing a Disaster Relief Fund. All donations to this fund will be used for relief and rebuilding efforts in the lives of our neighbors in Washington, Unicoi, and Carter counties in TN. The disbursement of funds will be overseen by a team from FCC, relying on the wisdom and council of local governments and non-profits and areas churches. Any donations to this fund will be accounted for separate from all other church funds and will be used only for disaster relief and recovery, and 100% of those funds will be used in our designated micropolitan region of Washington, Unicoi, and Carter Counties. The system for awarding grants will be established as soon as possible.
